Zero Value written in report for labels printed

When EASYLABEL sends a job to the Apollo printer via serial it first writes a report value of Zero for the quantity. Since EASYLABEL has bi-directional communications with the printer, it continues to poll the printer during the job until the number of labels left in the printer is Zero. At this point, it re-writes the report to confirm that the job has actually been completed. For what ever reason when using the Black Box you do not have a reliable communications link to the printer. So, EASYLABEL is not getting the information back from the printer as to the quantity left to do and the report is never updated.

Solutions:

1. Put real serial ports in the PC.

2. Print via parallel. This will cause the report to be written when the job is sent since EASYLABEL cannot query the parallel port as it is not bi-directional.

3. Check to see if there is an updated driver and firmware for the USB to serial device that makes it as reliable as a real serial port. We do not support these devices and they either work reliably or they do not. We have seen several USB to serial and USB to parallel cables that work perfectly but we have also seen many that are very unreliable.
