ODBC connection and Windows 7 |
|
|
It seems that it is not possible to add an ODBC connection in Windows 7 since when the Add button is selected in the ODBC Data source Administrator, the only selection you will have is the SQL Server. To add a new ODBC in Windows 7, go to Windows Explorer. Select Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe and double click that file to open it. The Window that opens is the ODBC Data Source Administrator again, but when you choose the Add button you will be able to select a driver and add a Data Source like you normally would in previous version of Windows. I am not positive if this problem is only with the 64 bit Windows 7 but I have no reason to believe it is.
