Converting Excel 2007 Spreadsheets to an EASYLABEL DBF

Open the spreadsheet in Excel 2007.
Open the Excel 2007 menu and click on the "Save As" button.
From the "Save As" window, enter a unique file name and choose "Formatted Text (Space delimited)(*.prn)" from the "Save as type" drop-down box.
Click the “Save” button to save a copy of the Excel 2007 spreadsheet as a PRN file.
Open the PRN file, created in step 4, in a text editor such as Microsoft Word Pad.
Count the number of characters in each column, including leading space in front of each column.
Create an EASYLABEL DBF database with field lengths equal to the number of characters counted for each column in step 6. Additional help on how to create an EASYLABEL DBF database is available in the EASYLABEL help file.
From the EASYLABEL “Database Records Management” window, select “File”|”Append Records from Text File…”.
Select the PRN file created in step 4 and click on the “Open” button. A status window will display how many records were imported from the PRN file.
The new EASYLABEL DBF database now contains all of the records from the original Excel 2007 spreadsheet. If the first row in the spreadsheet contained column headings they will be a separate record in the EASYLABEL DBF database. This record can be deleted using the EASYLABEL database editor.
