1. User may get an error during install such as: File failed to register \Elabelinfo.ocx 2. User may get error message at the end of install such as: Debug AXPRINT create failed. 3. User gets error message when trying to start EL such as: EL Batch not found and/or AXPrint not found.

The ActiveX objects did not get registered. 1. The file mfc42.dll is too old. The file that does work is dated 4/27/99. 2. This message is displayed when EL32 is installed with admin rights, uninstalled, and then reinstalled without admin rights. 3. ActiveX is not registered unless EL is installed or they are registered using regserver.

1. To manually solve the problem. 1. Go to the directory \winnt\system32. 2. Rename the existing file mfc42.dll to something like mfc.dll.old just in case you need to revert back to it. 3. Copy the new file mfc42.dll dated 4/27/99 into the directory \winnt\system32. 4. From a DOS prompt, locate the directory where EL is installed. 5. Type regsvr32 elabelinfo.ocx. 6. You should receive a Windows message that the file elabelinfo.ocx was successfully registered. IF the file does not register, check to be sure you followed the steps and commands above properly. Also be sure that you are logged in as an admin with rights to edit the registry. 2. Before uninstalling the software, from a command prompt go to the directory where EL is installed. and enter easy\unregserver. Then proceed with the normal uninstallation procedures. 3. Go to a DOS prompt. Go to the directory where EL is installed and type easy\regserver (easyn for multi user). After pressing the Enter key, the DOS prompt should return with no message indicating that the command was successful. If there is any type of error message, check the spelling and layout of the command and re-enter it. Afterwards, reboot the system. The ActiveX should now be registered.
