How to Check the Firmware on Sato CL Series and the 8480s Printer

A. 8480s, CL608 and the CL612:

1. Printing a User Test Print Label.
Before getting a print out of the printer's firmware and other factory settings, you
should record the positions of the current dip switch settings so that the printer
can be returned to it's previous configuration settings. An EASY way to do this is:

a) Hold the FEED button down while powering the printer on.
b) After you hear the tone, release the FEED button.
c) The following will appear on the LCD of the printer (except the 8480s):

Small Large

d) You can press the LINE button to select an option. Selecting Large will print a
detailed label. See the sample on the last page. Selecting Small will also
request a size from 04cm to 16cm on the 412 or 612 (from 04cm to 10cm on the
408 or 608). Pressing the LINE button will advance the counter. This option
will only print a Print Head test pattern.

f) Test labels will continue printing until you press the FEED button again.
