Zebra Queue Not Clearing |
The print queue in Easylabel does not clear. This leaves other jobs waiting
Two possible causes: Printer is configured incorrectly, or you are printing a format with an incrementing field on a printer with only a 1/2 meg of memory in the printer. If you are using Easylabel version 5 and above, you must be set to 8 data bits, no parity and 1 stop bit. If you are set to 7,E,1 the printer will still print but you experience the condition that you describe. The second cause is a bug that has appeared in the Zebra firmware. Apparently in some cases if an incremented field is on the label, then the printer either will hang up or it will not reduce the number of labels in the host status string to zero so that the printer never says that the job is done. Zebra has been aware of this problem for at least 4 months but they do not promise a fix until after January. If you are using a 1/2 meg printer, in some cases upgrading to 1 meg can solve the problem. That is not to say that the 1 meg can't hang, it simply takes a larger label to make it hang. To the best of our knowledge an incremented field is required to make this bug appear. |
