Intermec printer will not work. It worked at one time, but now does not. It seems that nothing has changed in the printer or in EL. The cable is correct

The settings for Intermec printers can get changed, maybe by using the Print Set software that is supplied with the Intermec printer.  If EASYLABEL is open at the same time that Print Set is running, some important settings may get changed.  Specifically Status Characters can get changed from Print Set which will not be compatible with EL.   If you experience a “Waiting” message in the EL queue, one possibility may be that the cable is incorrect.


Exit EASYLABEL, power off the printer, then restart the printer and EASYLABEL.  Go into the print queue. Highlight the correct Intermec printer from the list of installed printers. Click on the Printer Status button. Wait for 30 seconds or so or until the status is shown. It will list firmware version, memory, etc. Then click the Hardware Reset button. Wait a few seconds and the lights on the printer should light-up/blink. Once this is finished and the printer is showing Online Status or only the Power light is shown, you may try to print the label again. You may need to try this a couple of times and also power the printer off and on in between.  If you are still unable to get status, close EL and check the Task Manager to see if the Print Set software is running.  If so, close it.  Then restart EL.  The correct status characters are automatically sent to the printer when EL initializes the port.  You may need to wait a few seconds after start-up, but then you should be able to get status and perform a hardware reset.
