Unable to open a db used with EL DOS in EL2.5 or EL32. A customer upgraded to EL32 from EL DOS. They tried to open the database from EL32 but received an error message that the app was not able to open the file.

When opened in DOS, we found that one of the database fields is named TRGD/CLS. We were unable to determine why or how the user could have used the slash successfully; I was unable to create a new field containing a slash in EL DOS.

The steps to resolve the problem were: 1. Re-index the database file in EL DOS. 2. Open the file in Excel as a DB2 file. 3. Change the field name to TRGD_CLS. 4. Save the file as a DB2 file. 5. Open the file in EL32 and let the app convert it to DB3.
