Unable to open a db used with EL DOS in EL2.5 or EL32. A customer upgraded to EL32 from EL DOS. They tried to open the database from EL32 but received an error message that the app was not able to open the file. |

When opened in DOS, we found that one of the database fields is named TRGD/CLS. We were unable to determine why or how the user could have used the slash successfully; I was unable to create a new field containing a slash in EL DOS.
The steps to resolve the problem were: 1. Re-index the database file in EL DOS. 2. Open the file in Excel as a DB2 file. 3. Change the field name to TRGD_CLS. 4. Save the file as a DB2 file. 5. Open the file in EL32 and let the app convert it to DB3. |
