When changing number columns to text columns in Excel, the numbers may become left justified in the spreadsheet, like text, but they are not stored as text when the spreadsheet is saved.

Unless all columns are set to text BEFORE data is added, Excel will store the data as a general type and just display the number left justified. When Easylabel pulls records in using the ODBC UserDSN, a decimal point and zero will appear at the end of the number, EVEN THOUGH they are not shown in Excel.

Solution is to save the spreadsheet as a Formated Text - Space Delimited (*.prn) file. Then, close and re-open Excel. Open the *.prn file. The Import Wizard will start.

1. Set the file type as Fixed Width and starting at row 1.
2. You may have to re-establish the break lines to seperate the datafields.
3. Finally, make sure the "Column data format" for each field is set forText and NOT General. This is where we establish that all fields are text.
4. Re-do the ODBC UserDSN,
5. and in Easylabel, do a view change on all database fields. The decimal point and extra zero should no longer appear.
