Customer has to press then or to select the label from the PCMCIA card. Customer wants to call up the label just by scanning a barcode. Also, the customer does not want to be required to press the key on the keyboard to scan in data over top of the default Data.

Q1: Using the EZ-BARCODE Pen Scanner, Cherry Compact Keyboard, Apollo printer, and an example label called "LABEL1.LBL" on the PCMCIA card, the customer must first create and print a barcode with the following data encoded: F1LABEL1 Later, when the scanner, keyboard, and Apollo are setup correctly, the barcode can be scanned when the printer is on-line and LABEL1 will load from the PCMCIA card and start at the first data prompt.

Q2: To avoid pressing the key on the keyboard, the Insert control character needs to be placed preceding the data and the data should be followed by a Carraige Return control character. These are \x12 and \x0D, respectively. Headers and Trailers do this very well. Additionally, the scanner needs to be set to output keyboard special keys that were scanned.
